About the Author
I am a small town girl, through and through! Growing up in a small town in West Virginia, I camped, fished, rode four-wheelers, hiked, etc., and that is how I still live! My home includes a husband and two cats and the outdoors is one of my favorite places to be. I love all the colors and scents that make up the beauty of nature. They inspire and relax me.
I have been drawing and painting for as long as I can remember. A high school art teacher of mine inspired me to go into teaching. Unfortunately, after I enrolled in the art program, it was cut so I got my degree in early education instead. I love working with the young students. They can be so funny, loving and eager to learn. I will often draw and create my own games, coloring sheets, and activity sheets for my classes and the students are amazed to learn I was the one who drew them. They make me feel like I am the greatest artist in the world. Haha, I know I am not but it is a great feeling knowing they look up to me. Maybe I will inspire a student to go into art one day.
Of course I read a lot of children's books in my profession and have always wondered 'Could I do it?'. Now I have been given the chance and I couldn't be more excited. I hope you enjoy my stories and illustrations as much I did creating them. With the closing of the publishing company I was with, I am now self-published. Wish me luck!
